NGC 6523 (M8) - Bright Nebula in Sagittarius, magnitude 5.0, size 50 X 40.

Perseids Meteor Shower
This meteor shower has its maximum on August 13 @ 3:30 UT
(August 12 @ 22:30). The only difficulty is the full Moon.
Mars
closest approach this decade will be on Aug 28, 2003. It will be 0.373 AU away
and have a diameter of 25.1".
